A scientific calculator is displayed to a small group of people. The mentalist divides the group into 2 equal teams: Team A and Team B. One member from Team A is handed the calculator and asked to punch in a two-digit number. A second person from Team A is told to take the calculator and press the multiplication button and a second two-digit number. He hits the Equal (=) button. Team A is then instructed to remember this final product. They are then instructed to clear and then turn off the calculator. Team B is handed the calculator and told to follow the same procedure and to remember their product, also. Team B then clears and turns the calculator off. Now, the mentalist writes a prediction and places it aside. He then asks the teams to concentrate on their final numbers. One by one, the mentalist names the numbers, alternating between each team. When all the numbers have been divided, the mentalist accepts the applause. Next, the mentalist verifies the legitimacy of the calculator by doing the math longhand, thus proving the numbers are real. Finally, the mentalist adds the two numbers together. The sum of these numbers is noted and when the mentalist turns over the prediction, it matches the total.
