A pack of nine cards is shuffled with a couple of cuts and a spectator chooses a card. The remainder of the cards are cut again and dealt into 2 even piles. The top two cards are turned over, no match. The next two show a match. These are set next to the spectators card. The rest of the cards are turned over showing no matches. The spectator turns their card over and it matches the matched pair!
