I've been on both sides. I remember when I would discover that a magician with a truly busy performance schedule actually existed. That they were paying their bills, buying their groceries, raising their kids and going on vacations by performing their magic show... and for children's audiences, to boot!


Then I began to apply the same principles, and see it work. I could hardly believe it. I remember when the calls really started coming in. I remember the first time that in one day's time, I added 5-10 shows to my calendar. I just kept walking into the living room to my wife, wide eyed, and saying, "I just booked another one!".


I remember when I started doing 3-4 shows a day. I remember doing 40 shows in less than a single 2 week span. I remember when I thought, "I wish I didn't have any more shows this week!"


The bottom line is this. I was not better than lots of the working magicians out there. I did have a good show, a solid show, but that was not what got the calls coming in. I had already had a good show for a number of years. It was not until I switched my brain over to being a great marketer that I started making money, legitimate money, and not just "here and there".
